(English) FP7 CAPACITIES – Research for the benefit of SMEs or SME Associations

Many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Europe lack innovation and research capacities for the development of new technology based products and markets.
The program Research for the Benefit of SMEs aims to enable SMEs or SME associations to outsource research to providers of research services (‘RTD performers’) such as universities, research centres or other, more specialised SMEs.

Research for SMEs – targeting mainly low to medium technology SMEs with little or no research capability, but also high-tech SMEs who need to outsource research to complement their core research capability.
Project duration: 1-2 years
Project cost: 0,5 – 1,5 M€
Funding: appr. 75%
Activities: Research, demonstration, management, other

Research for SME associations – associations which act on behalf of their SME members to outsource pre-normative research issues, technological problems related to the development and implementation of legislation, and technological problems of whole industrial sectors.
Project duration: 2-3 years
Project cost: 1,5 – 4 M€
Funding: appr. 75%
Activities: Research, demonstration, management, other
