€34.8 million in new funding for Eco-innovation to bring environmental solutions to market!
The eco-innovation initiative bridges the gap between research and the market as part of the CIP Programme. It helps forward good ideas for innovative products, services and processes that protect the environment.

There are five main areas to this initiative:
1. Materials recycling and recycling processes;
2. Sustainable building products;
3. Food and drink sector;
4. Water efficiency, treatment and distribution;
5. Greening business.

SMEs play a major role in this regard. This is why priority is given to projects presented by small firms, although all legal entities are eligible for participation:

27 EU member states
Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein
Albania, Croatia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Israel, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey

The European Commission grants up to 50% co-funding to finance green ideas.

Deadline: 06 September 2012 at 17:00, Brussels local time.
